Established in 2011, CDYS East Cork Music Project is a non-profit organisation, developed in response to the need for a centre for music and art education in the local area of East Cork. We aim to promote, encourage and support music education and art practice amongst young people from the ages of 16 – 25. We are an affiliated service of the Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services.
WHAT WE DO
As a local training initiative, (LTI), East Cork Music Project is now running two QQI accredited courses:
Since its inception, East Cork Music Project (ECMP) has supported an average of 20 – 25 successful participants annually. Each year we accrue a waiting list for future courses, due to a growing recognition of the centre’s unique, innovative and participant-centered approach.
>We have a highly skilled team of staff here at ECMP, all of whom work to the individual’s requirements when facilitating learners through module work and projects.
The focus of the programme is to provide an opportunity for participants to progress to full time training or employment. We achieve this by:
- Providing QQI certified training in a safe, non-judgemental environment
- Promoting positive mental health and well being
- Supporting music and artistic skills in young people
